From ancient ruins to breathtaking natural wonders, Sri Lanka offers a multitude of attractions to explore. With this 8-day round trip, you have the perfect opportunity to experience the beauty and charm of this enchanting island nation. And all in a private car with your own guide.

Day 1: Welcome to Sri Lanka. Your private driver will greet you in the arrivals hall at the airport. He will take you and your luggage safely and quickly to Dambulla. On the way you will get a first impression of the island's nature. Would you like to take a coffee break or a photo stop? Go ahead! You have your own driver and you're on vacation! Once you arrive at the Nice Place Hotel, freshen up.

Day 2: Off you go on your first sightseeing tour with Sri Lanka Tours & Transports. After breakfast, your driver and guide will be waiting for you. You will visit Sigiriya and the cave temple of Dambulla. The Sigiriya Rock and the Dambulla Cave Temple in Sri Lanka are two must-see attractions for history and nature lovers. The Sigiriya Rock, also known as the Lion Rock, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers breathtaking views and ancient ruins. The Dambulla Cave Temple, on the other hand, is a complex of Buddhist cave temples with elaborate frescoes and statues. Both sites offer you a unique insight into Sri Lanka's rich history and culture. Return to the Nice Place Hotel.

Day 3: After a hearty breakfast, your guide and driver will be waiting for you. Two very important visits are on the program today: Anuradapura and Mihintale. Anuradapura is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, known for its rich history and well-preserved ruins. As one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Anuradapura offers visitors an insight into the ancient civilization that once flourished in this region.
Mihintale is a historical site that is of great importance to the country's Buddhist heritage. The place is considered the birthplace of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, as the Indian monk Mahinda converted King Devanampiya Tissa to Buddhism here in the 3rd century BC. Dinner is served at the Nice Place Hotel.

Day 4: Well fortified from breakfast, your guide and driver await you for another excursion. Polonnaruwa, once the thriving capital of Sri Lanka, is a treasure trove of ancient ruins and historical artifacts. The city of Polonnaruwa served as the capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to the 13th century, during the reign of the Chola and Sinhalese kings. One of the most impressive sites in Polonnaruwa is the Gal Vihara, a group of four massive Buddha statues carved into a granite rock face. Today's excursion ends at the Nice Place Hotel.

Day 5: Check out after breakfast. Your destination for today is Kandy. Kandy is located in the central province of Sri Lanka and is a city full of history and culture. One of the main attractions in Kandy is the Hindu temple and the Temple of the Tooth. The Temple of the Tooth, also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa, houses a tooth of Buddha. It is an important religious site for Buddhists around the world. The temple is adorned with intricate carvings and paintings, making it a visual treat for visitors. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to attend a traditional Kandy dance show. Your destination today is the Senani Hotel in Kandy.

Day 6: After breakfast, your guide and driver will be waiting for you. Today you will head into the highlands in a private car. You will admire the lush greenery of the tea plantations on the way. You will visit the botanical garden and a waterfall. Do you fancy a photo stop or a coffee break? Go ahead! Another stop is planned at a tea factory. Here they will explain the complicated process of tea production and various tea classifications. Tea will of course be served. Once you arrive in Nuwara Eliya, you will be expected at the Oak Ray Senani Hotel. Dinner will be served here.

Day 7: Strengthened by breakfast, you meet your driver and your guide. A very special experience is on the program today: you can enjoy one of the most beautiful railroad lines in the world.
Your driver will take you to Nanu Oya station and wait there until your train has departed. On the ridge of the high mountains, this train route takes you past fantastic landscapes, small villages and stops at all kinds of picturesque stations. And all this at a maximum speed of 20 - 30 km/h. Sit in the open door - like everyone else - and let the panorama pass you by with relish. The final stop is Ella. Your driver (with your luggage) will be waiting for you here. The Peacock Reach Hotel in Tissamaharama is already waiting for you. How about a sundowner after dinner to reflect on your experiences?

Day 8: It's time to get up early. Your private jeep will be waiting for you at the entrance gate just as Yala National Park opens. Your jeep driver will drive to the places where the wild animals are known to be. He knows the park like the back of his hand. At the end of the safari, you will get into your vehicle and your private driver will drive you to your booked connecting hotel. Our tip: The Sayu Garden Hotel in Habaraduwa.

A beautiful journey has come to an end.
